College GameDay host Rece Davis likes Ole Miss to win and cover the Egg Bowl in a dominant win over Mississippi State.

The Rebels are ranked No. 12 in the country and are a 10-point favorite. In fact, Ole Miss has an 82.3% chance to win the Egg Bowl, according to ESPN’s FPI.

Below is information on Thursday night’s edition of the Egg Bowl between the Rebels and Bulldogs.

How to watch Ole Miss vs. Mississippi State

Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
Channel: ESPN, FuboTV (streaming)
Location: Starkville (Miss.)

While Davis loves the tradition of the Egg Bowl, which can be a wacky game, he’ll throw his dollars on Ole Miss.

“You know, this is a Thanksgiving tradition in our house,” Davis said on the College GameDay Podcast. “We love watching the Egg Bowl. There’s usually something bizarre, somebody’s hiking their leg, some kind of weird call. I called an Egg Bowl once where Dak Prescott wasn’t going to play and then came off the bench and led them to victory with a weird Bo Wallace fumble through the end zone at the end and overtime to finish the game.

“I know bizarre things happen. But man, Mississippi State can’t get behind that even at home. I do not like laying that many points in a rivalry game, especially when you know, when you’re laying them on the road. But I’m going to take Ole Miss and lay the 10.”

Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin is looking to bounce back from last year’s loss, his first in the rivalry. It was part of the circus that was the coaching carousel, linking him to the Auburn job.

With that behind him, all focus has been on Ole Miss and taking the program to a new level. The Rebels came up short of an SEC title game appearance this season, but can still finish 10-2 and put their hat in the ring for a New Year’s Six Bowl.

As for Mississippi State interim head coach Greg Knox, this could be his one shot at getting an Egg Bowl win as the head coach. Mississippi State is conducting a national search to replace Zach Arnett but Knox has kept the vibes high.

Nothing would be sweeter than winning on Thursday night to state his case.

If recent history tells us anything, Ole Miss is going to have a good day offensively. Being a good unit with Jaxson Dart leading the way, the Rebels have not had too much of a challenge performing well in Starkville over the past few years.

Truly anything can happen in the Egg Bowl. Tempers are going to flare and players are going to be emotional. Hopefully, another crazy ending is heading our way, adding another incredible chapter to one of college football’s greatest rivalries.
