Eli Manning challenges brother Peyton ahead of Ole Miss-Tennessee showdown
Tonight’s showdown between the Ole Miss Rebels and Tennessee Volunteers is tearing the Manning brothers apart. Ahead of the game between the duo’s alma-maters, Eli Manning challenged his brother Peyton with a bet for tonight.
“Peyt, you can’t run and you can’t hide,” tweeted Eli Manning. “You wimped out on broadcasting the Ole Miss/UT game but you can’t bail on this- Ole Miss win you wear an Ole Miss Jersey the first have of MNF and vice versa. Don’t respond to this if you accept the bet.”
Originally, Eli wanted to broadcast the game Manning-cast style with Peyton. Unfortunately, his big brother wasn’t as game for the idea. Still, the jersey bet could be a sweet consolation prize.
This season, the Manning brothers have received critical acclaim for their alternate presentation of Monday Night Football. Returning after a couple weeks off, a little wager could make it that much more entertaining.

Of course, Peyton Manning is a legend of the Tennessee Volunteers football program. After shocking the world by choosing them over Ole Miss, he went on to become one of the best quarterbacks college football has ever seen. He played the Rebels twice while at Tennessee, defeating them both times.
As for Eli, the younger Manning followed his father’s footsteps — playing his college football at Ole Miss. In his time with the Rebels, Eli won the Maxwell Award and finished third in Heisman Trophy voting. Unfortunately, Manning never had the chance to go toe to toe with the Volunteers.
Tonight’s game features two teams with offenses who could score on every single play. With Josh Heupel and Lane Kiffin facing off, Ole Miss-Tennessee could be one of Saturday’s most entertaining games.
Throw in a bet featuring Eli and Peyton Manning, and the game has even more juice.
