Day one of the 2025 Elite 11 Finals, featuring 20 of the nation’s top quarterback recruits, is set to kick off Tuesday evening in Los Angeles. There are few higher honors for high school quarterbacks than being invited to the event, which will celebrate its 27th year in 2025.

It brings together the country’s elite signal-callers for three days of competition, skill work and training, which culminates with a 7-on-7 skills showcase on Thursday night.

Each of the prospects was selected after being a top performer during one of the event’s eight regional feeder camps this spring.

This year’s group features 15 of the top 20 quarterbacks in the On3 Industry Ranking and seven of the country’s top 10 passers. On3’s national recruiting team of Chad Simmons, Steve Wiltfong, and Charles Power are on hand Tuesday night for the first throwing session and will be providing live coverage throughout.

Live Updates from Elite 11 Finals Day 1

Texas commit Dia Bell earns On3 MVP on Day 1

06/18/2025 12:34:02 AM

On3’s Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power tabbed Texas five-star commit Dia Bell as the On3 MVP of day 1 at the Elite 11 Finals.

“The Texas pledge accounted for several of the best throws we saw throughout the drill stations on Thursday night,” Power wrote. “Bell impressed early on with his fluid, natural mechanics. The ball jumps out of Bell’s hand. He’s a rotational passer and generates impressive torque through his core. Bell showed the ability to make all the throws to every level of the field on Tuesday night.”

Duke commit Terry Walker III, Tennessee commit Faizon Brandon, followed by uncommitted signal callers Matt Ponatoski and Oscar Rios round out the top 5 from Power.

Day 2 will feature a simulated pro day that will have each quarterback going through the same 20 throw script.

Tennessee 5-star commit wins Rail Shot Challenge

06/17/2025 11:41:28 PM

Tennessee commit Faizon Brandon wins the rail shot challenge with Florida commit Will Griffin finishing second. It’s a knockout style competition that’s judged by the Elite 11 staff. As is the case every year, it’s highly subjective and debated by the different coaches out here. Regardless, Brandon, Griffin and several others like Duke commit Terry Walker, Oscar Rios, and Texas A&M commit Helaman Casuga made some nice throws during the competition.

And with that, night No. 1 is complete. — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Two 5-stars putting on a show

06/17/2025 10:55:59 PM

Exciting sequence with Texas commit Dia Bell and Tennessee commit Faizon Brandon going throw for throw back-to-back throughout the station. Bell had probably the most impressive sequence I’ve seen today. Got the ball out extremely quick with impressive zip and great ball placement. Thought Brandon made some nice throws too. It was a high energy few minutes for the two highest rated quarterbacks here. — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Notes on a few uncommitted passers

06/17/2025 10:40:05 PM

Four-star Oscar Rios (down to UCLA and Arizona) is quietly having a good workout. He’s been one of the most accurate QBs in this group. Consistently putting the ball on the receivers. On3 four-star Bryson Beaver has one of the stronger arms to come through this station. The ball is jumping out of his hand. Landon Duckworth has been hit or miss from a consistency standpoint but when everything is lined up, he’s made some great throws. His biggest area for improvement I’ve seen is getting his touch passes to turn over. — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

New Alabama commit continues to impress

06/17/2025 10:28:26 PM

Matt Ponatoski and Jett Thomalla — who flipped from Iowa State to Alabama earlier today — have made some nice throws on the goal line in their group. Ponatoski is just very clean tonight. Naturally accurate. Thomalla has shown a plus arm. I’ve thought Florida commit Will Griffin has shown improvement since we saw him at the Under Armour All-America Game in January. — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Good showing early on from Arizona State commit

06/17/2025 10:14:24 PM

Arizona State commit Jake Fette has looked increasingly comfortable as the workout has gone on. He’s delivering with nice zip on his passes. A twitchy mover with some juice in his arm, as well. — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Duke commit Terry Walker III off to promising start

06/17/2025 10:04:05 PM

I continue to like how Duke commit Terry Walker III is throwing the ball tonight. Looks loose and natural. Matt Ponatoski looks mechanically buttoned up. He’s been accurate at this station and has been clean — not something you see all the time from baseball throwers. Recent Boise State decommit Bryson Beaver has a pliable arm. He’s a rotational passer and is showing the ability to deliver from multiple arm angles. Landon Duckworth (between South Carolina and Auburn) has a 3/4 delivery. He’s not a finished product, but has shown some nice velocity on in-breaking routes. — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Miami, Duke, Tennessee commits show strong deep-ball skills

06/17/2025 09:39:58 PM

Working through one-step throws to the far hash and deep balls testing arm strength. Impressed by the speed of Miami commit Dereon Coleman’s release. There is zero wasted motion and he has a whippy motion. Duke commit Terry Walker III was also a standout. Walker threw very tight spirals with a lot of life on his throws. He put on 16 pounds this spring, and looks impressive physically.

Tennessee commit Faizon Brandon looked comfortable on the two deep balls. Tight spiral and they turned over. Many have struggled with those. Houston commit Keisean Henderson also impressed on the deep ball throws. In the other group, four-stars Oscar Rios and Matt Ponatoski stood out. — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Impressive start from dual-sport star

06/17/2025 09:22:17 PM

Four-star Matt Ponatoski found his rhythm at the end of his session with a couple accurate deep balls. He’s spent nearly the entire spring playing baseball and focusing on his recruitment, so a very good start from him early on showing no signs of rust. Kentucky and Oregon among the top schools contending for him right now. — Steve Wiltfong, On3 VP of Recruiting

Early physical standouts

06/17/2025 09:17:41 PM

Impressed with how Texas commit Dia Bell, Tennessee commit Faizon Brandon, and Miami commit Dereon Coleman threw the ball in warmups. All three generated easy velocity. Love the way the ball comes out of Dia Bell’s hand. He has smooth energy transfer and the throws have a high spin rate. Like the way the ball comes out of Faizon Brandon’s hand, as well. Dereon Coleman is by far the smallest QB here, but packs a significant punch with his natural arm strength. — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Quarterbacks warming up

06/17/2025 09:07:22 PM

After a bit of a delay, the quarterbacks are warming up on the field as we prepare to get going here on night 1. From a size/frame perspective Tennessee commit Faizon Brandon, Landon Duckworth, and Houston commit Keisean Henderson are three who stand out. The same could be said for Penn State commit Troy Huhn and Bryson Beaver. Clemson commit Tait Reynolds is the most muscular of the group. He clearly does not skip leg day. — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
