REDONDO BEACH, Calif. – Around twenty of the 2023 cycle’s top signal callers are in Southern California this week to compete in the Elite 11 Finals — the nation’s most prestigious quarterback camp.
The Elite 11 is in its 24th year and annually features the majority of the nation’s top rising senior quarterback prospects. This year is no different.
Some of the top arms at the Elite 11 Finals include Five-Star Plus+ USC commit Malachi Nelson, On3 Consensus five-star Dante Moore (uncommitted), Clemson commit Christopher Vizzina, new Miami commit Jaden Rashada, Oklahoma commit Jackson Arnold and Alabama pledge Eli Holstein. There are 19 quarterbacks competing at the event.
However, two of the the cycle’s five-star quarterbacks, new Texas commit Arch Manning and Tennessee pledge Nico Iamaleava, are not expected to participate. Iamaleava will miss the Finals due to an international volleyball tournament. Manning did not participate in any regional camps. They are two of the nation’s top five prospects.

The pro day workout features each quarterback doing the same 20 throw script. The players go down the field and finish with a touchdown pass. The throws include a slant, a handful of short passes including a stick and swing pass. There are also vertical shots including a post corner, a wheel route down the sideline and a go route.

Day 2 Elite 11 Live Updates
9:22 p.m. PT: Avery Johnson wraps it up with one of the better sessions on the day, with us charting him on target on 17-20 throws. Johnson got hot at the end and showed some very nice velocity on his passes. – Charles Power
9:16 p.m. PT: Florida State commit Chris Parson on target on 12-20 throws. The accuracy wavered a bit as Parson put too much juice on several throws. – Charles Power
9:10 p.m. PT: Miami commit Jaden Rashada was on target 15-20 passes. He has considerable velocity on his passes and had some high level throws but the velocity wavered a bit. – Charles Power
9:03 p.m. PT: Miami commit Emory Williams on target on 16-20 passes. Overall a solid session. Thought his drops looked solid and he didn’t have many overt misses — most of the off target throws were still in the vicinity. – Charles Power
8:56 p.m. PT: Purdue commit Rickie Collins just had one of the best sessions so far, with us charting him as on target on 18-20 passes. Collins was accurate to all levels of the field. His drops were well timed and he was able to read the varying speeds of the receivers. – Charles Power
8:49 p.m. PT: Malachi Nelson on target on 16/20 passes. Showed some nice location and accuracy on vertical and crossing routes. – Charles Power
8:42 p.m. PT: Malachi Nelson up next. – Charles Power
8:41 p.m. PT: Tulane commit Jaxon Smolik on target on 16-20 passes. A pretty strong session from him, in my opinion. Spun the ball well and was on pace for one the best sessions so far before missing the last throw. – Charles Power
8:36 p.m. PT: Arkansas commit Malachi Singleton on target on 16-20 passes. Overall a pretty impressive session from Singleton who is one of the better rushing quarterbacks in the cycle. Had a great throw on a seam down the left side. – Charles Power
8:31 p.m. PT: Eli Holstein on target on 15/20 passes. Good velocity on the intermediate throws. Missed a few deep balls. – Charles Power
8:24 p.m. PT: Alabama commit Eli Holstein is up next. – Charles Power
8:23 p.m. PT: JJ Kohl on target on 18-20 throws with impressive velocity to boot. The ball comes out of his hand the hottest of any high school QB to go so far. Very strong session from our On3 MVP from day one. – Charles Power
8:17 p.m. PT: JJ Kohl is up next. – Charles Power
8:17 p.m. PT: Austin Novosad on target on 17-20 passes. The ball comes out of his hand cleanly and almost all of his throws are spinning tightly. Another shot gun QB at the HS level who will need to continue timing up his drops. Most of the misses were just behind, but not way off. – Charles Power
8:11 p.m. PT: Austin Novosad is up. – Charles Power
8:11 p.m. PT: Jackson Arnold on target 16-20 throws. May have the best velocity of any high school QB to go thus far. His drops from under center may not be as refined as some others, as he’s primarily a shotgun QB at the high school level. – Charles Power
8:05 p.m. PT: Jackson Arnold is up next. – Charles Power
8:04 p.m. PT: Pierce Clarkson on target 15-20 throws. His best throws were on deep balls to the right. Clarkson hitched and put some nice air under the ball allow the receivers to run under the ball. – Charles Power
7:59 p.m. PT: Louisville commit Pierce Clarkson is up. – Charles Power
7:57 p.m. PT: Brock Glenn on target on 13-20 passes. He looks to be spinning it better today, but had a few misses. – Charles Power
7:52 p.m. PT: Solid session from Zane Flores, going 17-20. He started strong but had a few high throws on the back end. Still a good session from the Oklahoma State commit. – Charles Power
7:47 p.m. PT: Dante Moore and Christopher Vizzina are the two sharpest early on. Both have throwing great balls and maintaining their accuracy in the pro day workout. Moore was impressive going deep and outside the numbers, while Vizzina shined with his timing and ball placement all over the field. Consistency was theme for those two early on among high school group – Sam Spiegelman
7:46 p.m. PT: Zane Flores is up next. – Charles Power
7:45 p.m. PT: Dante Moore on target on 18-20 passes. Looked like the most accurate high school QB thus far. Not surprised, as this setting matches up with his skill set, but Moore was on point that session and even the misses were not bad balls. – Charles Power
7:39 p.m. PT: Dante Moore is up next. – Charles Power
7:38 p.m. PT: Christopher Vizzina on target on 17-20 throws. Probably the most impressive HS session thus far. Quick, explosive feet and had some very well thrown vertical passes. – Charles Power

7:25 p.m. PT: Kenny Minchey on target on 17-20 throws. Impressive session with another very nice throw on the deep flag route. Good zip and spun the ball well. The ball was coming out of his hand with some velocity. – Charles Power
7:19 p.m. PT: Pitt commit Kenny Minchey is up next. – Charles Power

7:13 p.m. PT: Cincinnati commit Brady Drogosh is up. – Charles Power
7:12 p.m. PT: We charted Bryce Young as accurate on 18-20 throws. He was probably the most accurate of all the college QB’s and showed the ability to adjust to the speed of receivers. – Charles Power
7:04 p.m. PT: Alabama QB and reigning Heisman winner Bryce Young looks to be up next. – Charles Power
7:03 p.m. PT: We charted CJ Stroud as accurate/on target for 17 of 20 throws. A little more juice on his passes than Leary. Overall an impressive session from the Ohio State QB. – Charles Power

The throws include a slant, a handful of short passes including a stick and swing pass. There are also vertical shots including a post corner, a wheel route down the sideline and a go route.
Elite 11 coach Trent Dilfer is currently leading the group through the script, describing each throw. – Charles Power
6:23 p.m. PT: It’s interesting to see Bryce Young interacting with everyone in this setting. He’s relaxed, happy to be here. An unassuming reigning Heisman winner. – Charles Power
6:02 p.m. PT: Alabama QB Bryce Young is out here, presumably as a counselor. He was at the Manning Passing Academy last weekend. – Charles Power
5:49 p.m. PT: Ja’Kobi Lane is planning to commit before the season. Still open, but he’s high on Kansas State, Arizona State, Arizona, and Auburn. Oregon and USC are talking to him a lot too, but haven’t offered yet. – Chad Simmons
