Elite 2024 cornerback Wardell Mack of Marrero (LA) John Ehret narrowed his list to 4 schools Monday afternoon.

The 6-foot-1, 180 pounder is down to the following: Texas, Florida, Florida State, and LSU.

Mack discusses finalists

Texas Longhorns: Over the spring they’ve made it known that I was a priority & coach Sark has come visited me a number of times. Coach Terry Joseph is playing a big part in me being recruited there as well due to me and him having the same roots and playing for the same peewee program when we grew up. So it’s definitely a connection there.

Florida Gators: It was a well anticipated offer for me & once I got it Coach Juluke & Coach C Ray made sure I knew that I was a priority. Also they made it known that they were only coming to Louisiana to recruit players who are dogs and can come and make a difference in the state of Florida. I talk to coach Napier almost everyday.

Florida State Seminoles: The first unofficial I took there, I was blown away by culture and staff. Me and Coach Pat Surtain have an Uncle-Nephew relationship and coach Yac has played a major role in recruiting me and showing me how much they want me in their program. Also, talking to coach Norvell adds a plus to the situation because you get the same version of him everyday. He only pushes his players and expects them to become better men and athletes.

LSU Tigers: They’ve been here since the beginning of my recruitment and always made me feel at home whenever I stepped foot on campus. Coach BK has made it clear that I’d be a great piece to the tiger defense & that he sees in the future that I could potentially wear #7 because of how much of a dynamic player he believes I am after watching my film.

Mack ranks as the No. 71 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 7 cornerback and the No. 2 player in the state of Louisiana.

On3 ranks him higher than the industry, as he tabs in as the No. 19 player nationally, the No. 3 cornerback, and the No. 2 player in Louisiana.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $110K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
