Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star Ellis Robinson IV is one of the most coveted defenders in the Class of 2024. And even though he’s got one of the longest offer lists in the country, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Robinson is already narrowing his focus to top schools.

Robinson recently reduced his list to 10 schools: Miami, Georgia, Penn State, South Carolina, Alabama, Oklahoma, USC, LSU, Florida and Ohio State. The next step is to narrow his list to five programs by January.

“I really already have most of the offers that I wanted,” Ellis Robinson said. “So, that’s why I wanted to do a top 10. I feel like I’m kind of in the middle of the recruiting process. They showed me the most interest out of all the schools I had offers from. I just felt closer with the coaches at these schools more than anything.”

Ellis Robinson has visited Miami, Penn State, Georgia, Alabama and Florida. He said he wants to make more visits this summer but doesn’t have anything planned.

Yet, he “definitely will be back at Georgia and Alabama.” Robinson said he wants to get to other schools he’s not visited first, though.

3 schools stand out on Ellis Robinson’s list

Ellis Robinson also said Georgia, Alabama and Miami are the three schools standing out. That’s also reflected in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine’s current status. According to the On3 RPM, Alabama has a 62.5% chance of landing Robinson’s commitment. It’s followed by UGA at 33% and Miami at 1.4%.

“The most important thing for me is feeling comfortable at the school and seeing if I can actually fit in the program,” Robinson said. “And also building a good relationship with the coaches is a big part of me with any school.”
