Elite EDGE Javion Hilson to be at Florida this weekend, planning 6 additional visits
Cocoa (Fla.) elite four-star EDGE Javion Hilson is planning to visit at least seven schools this fall, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Hilson told On3 that he will visit Florida, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, Michigan and Syracuse — with plans to add additional schools.
That visit to Florida is coming up this weekend as the Gators host Texas A&M.
Hilson took official visits with both the Longhorns and Seminoles this summer, as well as Florida and UCF.
“They kind of got me thinking right now,” Hilson said of the Gators after the official visit. “I can visualize myself here, playing in the defensive scheme. It was nice. I love Florida. They’re high. They’re high.”
Hilson decommitted from Florida State on Sunday, having been previously committed to the Seminoles since January.
“After careful consideration, I have decided to decommit from Florida State and reopen my recruitment,” he wrote on Twitter. “I will be making my final decision in December. Thank you to everyone at FSU for their support.”

Texas is setting the pace right now, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). That comes after an expert pick from On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong. The RPM now gives Texas an 85.3 percent chance of landing Hilson, one of the Sunshine State’s most prolific defenders.
Hilson was also previously committed to Alabama, but backed off that pledge in January after Nick Saban retired and flipped his commitment to the Seminoles.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder is the No. 37 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 2 EDGE and the No. 7 recruit in the Sunshine State.
One of the Sunshine State’s most prolific defenders, Hilson helped Cocoa to a Class 2S title in 2023 while totaling 97 tackles, including 27 tackles for loss, 14 sacks and three forced fumbles.
