Elite safety Jordan Young narrows his list down to four schools
On May 1, Jordan Young named Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Michigan, North Carolina, NC State, Tennessee and Texas A&M as his top eight schools. The No. 68 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking took four official visits in June and he has cut his list in half.
“Clemson, Florida State, Michigan and NC State are my top four schools,” Young told On3. “All four fit my style of play, they each offer opportunities off the field, and I feel like all four staffs have coaches that are great developers.”
The schools on his list have invited back on campus late in July for a cookout, but he has yet to line up any visits. He could end up on one or two campuses later this month. He plans to get to some games before he commits in October as well.
“My plan is to get to some games this fall to get that gameday feel. I am still committing on Oct. 12 (his birthday) and I am evaluating the schools, looking at the pros and cons and I will go from there.”
Young gives quick hits on his final four schools
Clemson: “The people at Clemson are great. Coach Dabo Swinney has a top program at Clemson and their coaches are good people and easy to talk to.”

Florida State: “What excites me most about the opportunity with the Seminoles is the program’s vision and the sense of family they foster. The facilities are top-notch, and I can see myself developing both as a player and a person there. Plus, the fan base is incredibly supportive, which is huge for me.”
Michigan: “They’ve built a really good relationship with me and my family. They brought me in for a visit, and I really liked it, so I replaced Tennessee with them for my last summer official visit. They are the defending national champs. The proof is in the pudding. I like them a lot.”
NC State: “Coach Joker Phillips is a great guy. He and the coaches at NC State have been coming after me hard for a while. The relationships and how hard they recruit me stands out.”
