Center Valley (Pa.) Southern Lehigh four-star tight end Andrew Olesh has decommitted from Michigan and flipped his pledge to Penn State.
He was pledged to the Wolverines since July 8, but now joins a Nittany Lions class that ranks in the top-15 nationally in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings with his commitment.
A big part of Olesh’s decision was not only the ability to stay home, but his connection with position coach Ty Howle.
“He’s developed tight ends his entire career being there,” Olesh told On3’s Steve Wiltfong after his most recent visit. “He spent some extra time with me and my family and friends after the game explaining what Coach Franklin was saying. They want me, there are other guys looking at Penn State that want to come to Penn State but they’re holding off for me. That’s great for me.”
Olesh is the No. 55 overall prospect and No. 3 TE in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Pennsylvania.
On3 is slightly higher on him than other services, tabbing him as the nation’s No. 43 prospect and No. 2 tight end.

Nittany Lions close strong with top in-state prospect
The in-state school was always among Olesh’s top schools. When he committed to the Wolverines, he did so over Alabama, Penn State and Florida, among others.
But in the midst of Michigan’s on-field struggles, he looked around at other programs. The Nittany Lions hosted him in in early November for an unofficial visit after his official over the summer.
And after deliberating over the first two days of the Early Signing Period, the 6-foot-5, 215-pounder has joined up with James Franklin and Co.
He is now part of a PSU class that includes 12 other blue-chippers, led by top-100 offensive tackle Malachi Goodman.
