4-star SG Elzie Harrington flips commitment from Harvard to USC
Elzie Harrington, a four-star shooting guard in the 2025 class, has decided to flip his commitment from Harvard to USC, he told On3.
The 6-foot-5 senior out of St. John Bosco (CA) has been committed to Tommy Amaker and the Crimson since June. He’s now had a change of heart and will make the move to Los Angeles to play for Eric Mussleman.
“Musselman is great at coaching and developing big guards,” Harrington said of why he chose USC. “I think he’ll challenge and get the best out of me everyday and that’s something that is really important.”
According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Harrington is the No. 50 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle. He’s also the No. 13 shooting guard prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Harrington Scouting Report
“The intriguing part of Elzie Harrington’s game is the ability to score. He has positional size that goes along with his handle to get to spots in the half-court. He has a smooth jump shot and consistent release. While Harrington’s path has been fluid, he is playing some good basketball heading into his senior season, and his positional size with the ability to create and score it are hard to ignore.
“Elzie Harrington has a good frame with nice length and positional size. He is comfortable on the ball and able to get the ball to its spots in the half court. Listed in the 6-5 range, Harrington plays with a good pace, he rarely gets rushed. He finishes through contact at the rim and can knock down a spot three on ball reversals. Comfortable as a secondary ball handler. Harrington lack blow-by burst on the ball. He has upside as an off ball defender using positioning to cut down angles. He is a high floor type prospect.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
