2023 On3 4-star EDGE Emmanuel Okoye sets commitment date
Emmanuel Okoye, a 2023 EDGE who plays out of the NFL Academy in London, has set a commitment date. Okoye announced on Twitter that he’ll be making his decision on May 17.
Okoye announced a top-3 of Tennessee, Texas Tech and USC on May 10.
Okoye is the No. 479 overall prospect and No. 42 EDGE in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
On3 rates Okoye higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2023 On300, Okoye is the No. 257 overall prospect in the country and the No. 24 EDGE.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Tennessee holds a slim lead at the top over USC and Texas Tech to land a pledge from the 6-foot-5, 228-pounder.
Each of the schools in Okoye’s top three, he took visits to during April. He visited Tennessee on April 15, Texas Tech on April 19 and USC on April 22.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $11.9K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Okoye reflects on top 3
Okoye spoke with Hayes Fawcett ahead of his top three announcement and broke down why each school made his cut.
Tennessee: “Tennessee has a great football environment and tradition, great coaches and system going on,” Okoye said. “They also have great academics. I met great people during my time out there which will be great in the long run.”
Texas Tech: “Texas Tech has great coaches and teammates,” Okoye said. “I got to watch practice and loved the energy as well as the teammates I was around. It was a great environment.”
USC: “USC is a great academic school with a great football tradition, great coaches, and teammates. It was a beautiful environment with a lot going on and great weather.”
