Eric Reibe, the No. 1 ranked center in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, has committed to UConn and head coach Dan Hurley, On3 is told.

The 7-footer is originally from Germany and playing his senior year of high school at Washington (DC) Bullis School. He chose the Huskies over a final group that also included Creighton, Indiana, Kansas, and Oregon.

The four-star center is UConn’s second commitment in the 2025 class joining top-25-ranked Darius Adams, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard.

Reibe is currently the No. 33 ranked player in the 2025 On3 150.

Reibe talks UConn

Eric Reibe has spoken with On3 about UConn throughout his recruitment.

“What stands out to me is their player development,” Reibe told On3’s Joe Tipton. “Especially with what they’ve done with (Donovan) Clingan. That fits in with the play style too with Clingan. He can play make, handoffs, slips, all that good stuff. Their recent winning history of course. Back-to-back National Champions are very attractive. Coach Hurley’s environment is cool too because I know he would push me to my ceiling. Also, the opportunity for me. (Hurley) has a straight plan and vision.”

Coach Dan Hurley texts me a lot, even before they offered me,” the four-star center told On3’s Jamie Shaw. “They think I would be a good fit with how they used Donovan Clingan. I’m already good with my skill set but they want to keep putting weight on me and improve my perimeter defense. I watched them a lot through the last two years. How they train and recruit players is very unique. They only take the best that fit what they do, they don’t just throw out offers. Being able to receive one of those offers is showing my work is paying off.”

Scouting Eric Reibe

“Eric Reibe is a skilled left big man. Listed at 7-foot-0, he has nice length and is comfortable with the ball in his hands and asked to make a play. Reibe has shooting range that extends beyond the three-point arc. He is a threat as a pick-and-pop big man. Originally from Germany, Reibe has consistently been injured since coming over the the United States. Reibe would prefer to play facing the basket, and he is a solid passer from the elbows and the mid-post. He can score on the block, especially comfortable getting over his right shoulder. There are some toughness questions floating around with regard Reibe. He will need to continue getting stronger, this will help him hold a better position and not get knocked off his spots. He has a good feel with the ball in his hands. Reibe finds mismatches well and knows how to get to his spots effectively and efficiently to get into an area he can make a play. He has a nice projectable frame that should continue to add weight as he advances into a college strength and conditioning program. Staying healthy will be the first step for Reibe, and continuing to grow his physicality will be another. With his skill set, there is a lot to like. At his size, no matter the setting (high school, travel, camp, etc.) he has been able to find favorable matchups and make a play.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
