The 2024 college football season is less than two months away. Just like everyone else associated with the sport, ESPN analyst Tim Tebow can’t wait for it to arrive.

Tebow joined SportsCenter Saturday morning and shared what he is most excited for ahead of the season. Of course he’s excited to see a couple of new teams in the SEC. But he’s also anxious to see what an expanded College Football Playoff looks like.

“Where do we start?” Tim Tebow said. “Obviously Oklahoma and Texas, that’s so exciting. But I want to go outside. I want to go bigger picture. I’m going to go with the change of the College Football Playoff. Like what are we talking about – 12 teams. And what I’m most excited about is the home playoff games. Are you kidding me?”

The College Football Playoff is expanding from four teams to 12 teams in 2024. The first round of the playoff will be played at the home stadium of the higher seeded team between teams seeded from No. 5 to No. 12.

That means that the top teams in college football will be playing win-or-go home games in some of the best atmospheres the sport has to offer.

“For the first time ever we have home playoff games in college football. Can you imagine if that’s at one of the Death Valleys, if that’s in the Swamp or Doak Campbell or Texas Stadium, Oklahoma, like all of these places. It’s going to be ridiculous,” Tebow said. “Rivalry games are going to be ridiculous, but now a College Football Playoff game. Come on. I’m getting hype six weeks away just thinking about it.”

Tim Tebow explains why he’s intrigued by Ole Miss entering 2024

Ole Miss had its best season yet under Lane Kiffin in 2023, winning 11 games, including a Peach Bowl victory over Penn State.

ESPN analyst Tim Tebow believes the Rebels can be even better in 2024 and potentially compete for an SEC Championship. Tebow was asked on SportsCenter Saturday morning which team he is most intrigued by. Ole Miss is at the top of the list for him.

“If I’m going to say one that’s really intriguing this year, I’m going to go with Ole Miss,” Tim Tebow said. “I think the Lane Train, he’s got the most talent that he’s ever had before.”

The Rebels return starting quarterback Jaxson Dart, who threw for 3,364 yards last season. Dart accounted for 31 touchdowns with only five interceptions.

Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin also went to the transfer portal to bring in plenty of playmakers to put around their talented QB.

“Jaxson Dart has experience. You have a plethora of receivers – all the people that have transferred in,” Tebow said. “You have a defense that is getting better, but it’s the most talent that they’ve ever had at defense. And they’re experienced.”
