ESPN College GameDay announces PFT Commenter as guest picker
ESPN College GameDay is heading to Harrisonburg this weekend, highlighting the James Madison Dukes. One of the top Group of Five teams in the country, JMU is undefeated and will be facing off against Appalachian State. As is tradition, a guest picker is needed and ESPN will be dipping into the Barstool Sports universe to find it.
PFT Commenter — a graduate of James Madison — will join the College GameDay desk to make Saturday Selections, the show announced on Thursday evening. Desmond Howard, PFT, Pat McAfee, Lee Corso, and Kirk Herbstreit will all be up there giving out their picks.
The patented sunglasses with a baseball cap, likely a Washington Nationals one, will be on full display just before the noon slate kicks off in Week 12 of college football.
PFT Commenter is the host of the Pardon My Take podcast alongside Dan “Big Cat” Katz. Both have a massive following on social media and are huge advocates for their alma mater. Katz cheers for the Wisconsin Badgers. Both of their fandoms are well-documented and bring laughs to people across the country.
You can expect some jokes to be cracked with PFT Commenter on the stage. He does have a relationship with some people at ESPN, most notably Pat McAfee. The two used to be co-workers at Barstool Sports and McAfee talked about the respect he has for PFT recently.

Of course, the big news surrounding James Madison at the moment is the NCAA denying their eligibility for the postseason. Due to just making the jump up from the FCS level, the Dukes are not allowed to play in a bowl game. Their 10-0 record does not matter. If every bowl game gets filled, you will not see JMU playing in the postseason.
“We’re saddened for our university community and, in particular, we’re devastated for our football program, the coaches, and the student-athletes who have orchestrated an amazing season and earned the opportunity,” a statement from James Madison said.
Not many have been advocating for the program more than PFT. He wants to see James Madison get a chance to play in a bowl game and with how they have been playing, maybe even in the New Year’s Six.
But for now, all of his focus will be on making picks on Saturday afternoon. Already one of the most well-liked segments on College GameDay, a great guest only elevates it.
