ESPN College GameDay heading to Baton Rouge for Alabama vs. LSU in Week 11
Rece Davis announced during Saturday’s edition of ESPN College GameDay that they’ll be bringing the show to Baton Rouge in Week 11, ahead of the gigantic SEC clash between Alabama and LSU.
It’s a fantastic choice, the Crimson Tide and the Tigers are both still in the running for a spot in the College Football Playoff as the calendar turns to November. The game on Nov. 9 could determine who ultimately gets in.
As for this weekend, both Alabama and LSU have a bye in Week 10. That gives them plenty of time to prepare for the critical SEC showdown, and ready for all the pomp and circumstance that’ll surround the clash next weekend.
Moreover, Tigers head coach Brian Kelly has already been asked about the Crimson Tide and Alabama being back to its old self after it pounded Missouri last weekend. Per usual, Kelly gave a hilarious response.
“What’s that old self look like? What, is Nick Saban back? Nick’s on the sideline? He’s everywhere. GameDay, he’s at GameDay too. Did you know that? Oh, my God,” Kelly said. “I’m not sure what the old Alabama (is). They’ve got great personnel. They’re well coached. You know, we certainly know that it’s going to be a great challenge, but that’s the SEC every week. It’s going to be the same. I don’t know that there is a sense that our team can’t, if they’re playing to their best when their best is needed, that they can’t compete and play with anybody.”

Kelly continued to preview the matchup with Alabama, ahead of Kalen DeBoer’s first game against the Tigers while leading the Crimson Tide program.
“We certainly have to play four quarters,” Kelly said. “And I know that they’re anxious and excited about the opportunity to play at Tiger Stadium and look, and I think I said this in the presser after, you know, you have a 24 hour rule. But it’s easier to have that after a win.
“The 24 hours after a loss, (it) sticks around a lot longer, and these guys are going to want to play and they can’t wait to play Alabama.”
