ESPN College GameDay heading to College Station for Texas-Texas A&M in Week 14
ESPN College GameDay will be heading to College Station for Week 14’s massive showdown between Texas and Texas A&M. The announcement was made on Saturday night, picking the Lone Star Showdown over multiple other big-time rivalries.
But with the Longhorns and Aggies back to playing each other for the first time since 2011, the matchup was too good to pass up.
“College Station!! We’re headed to Texas A&M for the showdown between the Longhorns and the Aggies,” ESPN College GameDay said via X.
Texas will enter next Saturday’s game with a 10-1 record, taking down Kentucky in their most recent matchup. Steve Sarkisian has the Longhorns one win away from making the SEC Championship in the program’s first season in the conference. College Football Playoff implications will be on the line as well.
As for Texas A&M, at the time of the announcement, they are down 21-0 on the road against Auburn. The hope for folks in College Station is to have an incredible come-from-behind win and level the stakes. Winning out will put the Aggies in Atlanta and keep their own CFP hopes alive.

Somehow, this is the first time ESPN College GameDay has ever featured this rivalry. Partly because of which day of the week the game is played, traditionally occurring on Thanksgiving. But the SEC placed it on a Saturday this year, giving them an opportunity to feature Texas and Texas A&M.
Going back to this specific season, this will be the second time ESPN College GameDay is in College Station this year. Rece Davis and the crew were there for Texas A&M’s opener against Notre Dame. Now, they bookend the year by heading back to celebrate one of college football’s best rivalries.
More than just bragging rights will be on the line. Major College Football Playoff implications could be at stake, along with a potential spot in the SEC Championship game. Emotions are going to be high from Kyle Field and GameDay being in town will only add to it.
