Report: Pat McAfee set to join ESPN's College Gameday full time
The rise to media stardom has been rapid for former NFL kicker Pat McAfee. It might have just taken a seminal step on Tuesday, as a report from Andrew Marchand of the New York Post indicates that he will become a full-time member of the College Gameday crew on ESPN.
McAfee has appeared on the show multiple times in the past as a guest picker. He has been floated as a potential replacement for Lee Corso when the former coach, and fixture on the program, retires.
According to the report, McAfee will be appearing on the show this Saturday when the crew comes to America from Austin, Texas, ahead of the blockbuster matchup between Texas and Alabama.
McAfee, who kicked at West Virginia prior to his pro career, will also continue to do his daily radio show on YouTube, according to the report.

McAfee gets in on the college football pregame show shuffle
FOX officially announced its panel for Big Noon Kickoff this season, and Urban Meyer is back on the desk alongside Rob Stone, Brady Quinn, Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart. The former Florida and Ohio State coach left the show last season to coach the Jacksonville Jaguars, who fired him after less than one full season at the helm.
Former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops filled Meyer’s seat, but he’s preparing to coach in the XFL. Now, Meyer is back.
The news isn’t a surprise. Meyer has made a few appearances on Big Ten Network over the offseason, notably when the league added USC and UCLA, when he shared his thoughts on the latest round of conference realignment. But he’s back on the pregame show to set the stage for Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt and Jenny Taft every week.
