ESPN’s College GameDay is heading to Ohio State vs. Oregon in Eugene as its Week 7 destination, the network announced. The highly anticipated matchup is one of the many notable games highlighting the slate, including the Red River Rivalry between Oklahoma and Texas.

Ohio State and Oregon were the top two teams in the Big Ten preseason media poll this year as both teams brought high expectations into the season. The Ducks are one of four newcomers in the Big Ten, but next week’s matchup was viewed as a potential College Football Playoff appetizer when the schedule first came out.

Now, ESPN’s College GameDay will be in attendance. The show will set the table for the 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on NBC.

Week 7 is sure to have one of the most exciting schedule of games of the season. Not only are Ohio State and Oregon squaring off, but Texas and Oklahoma will renew their rivalry in the Cotton Bowl for the first time as SEC members. There’s also Ole Miss vs. LSU in Baton Rouge and Penn State vs. USC at The Coliseum.

But College GameDay will be in attendance for the most notable Big Ten game of the day. It should be quite the matchup, too – and, just maybe, a preview of what’s to come in Indianapolis for the conference championship.

Ohio State and Oregon are two of the four remaining undefeated Big Ten teams in conference play. The Buckeyes are coming off a resounding victory over Iowa at The Horseshoe on Saturday, fueled by an efficient showing from Will Howard. He completed 21 of 24 passes for 209 yards and four touchdowns to lead the charge.

Of course, there was also another highlight-reel catch from freshman sensation Jeremiah Smith. He made a one-handed touchdown catch as part of his 89-yard day to lead the Buckeyes receivers en route to the victory.

Oregon, meanwhile, played a Friday night matchup against Michigan State at Autzen Stadium. Despite some early miscues from Dillon Gabriel, the Ducks cruised to the 31-10 win. Gabriel finished the night with 257 yards and two touchdowns to go with a rushing touchdown, as well.

It all sets up one of the most-anticipated games of the season when Ohio State and Oregon battle it out in Eugene. With ESPN College GameDay in attendance, the hype is only going to keep building.
