After months of longing, ESPN’s College GameDay welcomed Week 1 of the college football season in with style, live from College Station ahead of Notre Dame at Texas A&M on Saturday.

The Celebrity Guest Picker for Week 1’s edition of College GameDay was former Heisman winner Johnny Manziel, a legend for the Aggies. Manziel joined the stellar ESPN crew to predict whether the Aggies can beat the Fighting Irish, along with some other huge games, such as Georgia vs. Clemson, and Penn State vs. West Virginia.

Notre Dame at Texas A&M: It’s Mike Elko in his debut as the leader of the Aggies against his former quarterback in Riley Leonard and Marcus Freeman. Howard, Saban, McAfee and Manziel (of course) are riding with Texas A&M, while Herbstreit is calling the game, so no pick from him.

Corso disappeared from the desk for a moment, but he returned in green, deciding on the Fighting Irish and saving the sweep.

Georgia vs. Clemson: “Somebody has to prove that they can beat Georgia,” Saban said, putting it bluntly. Nobody believes that’ll be Dabo Swinney and Clemson, as the whole crew is on Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs.

Florida vs. Miami: It’s a battle of two former Saban assistants in Mario Cristobal and Billy Napier, and that made it difficult on the legendary coach to pick the game. He’s on the Hurricanes, as Howard, Manziel and Corso are as well, but McAfee and Herbstreit believe in the Gators.

Penn State at West Virginia: FOX brought Big Noon Kickoff to Morgantown, and McAfee sung Country Roads for the crowd in College Station. Will that be enough goodwill for the Mountaineers? Howard, Saban and McAfee are on West Virginia, while Manziel, Corso and Herbstreit believe in James Franklin and the Nittany Lions.

South Dakota State at Oklahoma State: Can the Jackrabbits shock the Cowboys? Not so fast, the whole crew is on Oklahoma State and Mike Gundy.

Virginia Tech at Vanderbilt: Corso is a believer in the Commodores, but everyone else is picking the Hokies.

Boise State vs. Georgia Southern: The Broncos are the popular pick, as everyone believes they start 1-0.

Florida State vs. Boston College: The whole crew believes Mike Norvell will have the Seminoles get their first win of the season.
