An electric morning is about to give way to a tremendous afternoon of college football, but first the ESPN College GameDay crew had to make their picks.

The show is heading to Athens, Georgia for a game that is expected to be the most anticipated matchup of the 2022-2023 college football season, the showdown between the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs and the third-ranked Tennessee Volunteers.

The Volunteers are one of the hottest teams in college football. Two weeks ago, they stunned the Alabama Crimson Tide 52-49 in one of the best games of the season. Then, on Saturday, they throttled the Kentucky Wildcats to the tune of a 44-6 beatdown. Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker is one of the nation’s leading Heisman candidates and all of the attention is well-deserved.

Both Georgia and Tennessee remain undefeated going into the matchup and the outcome is sure to play a pivotal role in the College Football Playoff picture for the 2022-2023 season.

Moreover, country music star Luke Bryan is joining the fray as the celebrity guest picker, as he revealed the news on Twitter via a video announcement earlier this week.

“What’s up ESPN GameDay, Luke Bryan here coming in to be the Celebrity Guest Picker. Coming in for my Bulldogs, to watch the Bulldogs beat the Vols,” revealed Bryan. “Make sure you guys tune in at 11:30 eastern to see my picks, I’m going to go like 12-0, no doubt.

“I’m going to stick around, watch the game, cheer the Bulldogs on. Make sure you guys tune in Saturday morning.”

Unfortunately, Lee Corso couldn’t join the crew for the show, as he continues to deal with a health issue that’s kept him off the set multiple times in 2022.

“Lee Corso is still recuperating, looking forward to getting him back,” revealed Rece Davis. “I talked to LC this week and I said to him, what could we do for you? He said, go kill them on Saturday. I think we can do that with a game like this.”

Nevertheless, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Kirk Herbstreit will make Corso proud. Here’s who the crew of has winning the biggest matchups that can shape the remainder of the season.
