ESPN FPI Top 25 updated after chaotic Week 10 of college football
Following an exciting and chaotic weekend of college football in Week 10, ESPN has updated its FPI Top 25 rankings. FPI (Football Power Index) is a tool that measures a team’s expected point margin vs. an average opponent on a neutral field. It is meant to measure a team’s true strength while also predicting future performances.

Exciting Week 10 resulted in major changes in ESPN’s FPI Top 25
While the top six was unchanged in the ESPN FPI rankings after Week 10, there was major movement elsewhere. Iowa State and Clemson each rose two spots, while Wisconsin jumped up 13 spots to come in at nine. Cincinnati got a win against Tulsa, but it took a last minute goal line stand. The Bearcats dropped three spots, rounding out the top ten.
Texas A&M rose two spots to 11 while Oklahoma State jumped up seven spots to come in at 12. Penn State also rose four spots to finish at 13, and Notre Dame remained idle at 14. Utah rose nine spots to round out the top 15. NC State also rose two spots to come in at 16.

From 17-25, the post Week 10 FPI rankings are headlined by major drops. Ole Miss dropped one spot to 17, but there was serious movement in the later spots. Auburn (six spots), Texas (eight spots), Florida (12 spots), and Michigan State (six spots) all saw major falls, taking up spots 18-21.
Oregon and Baylor also dropped two spots each, while Iowa rose one spot to 24. Miami dropped two spots, rounding out the FPI top 25 after Week 10. Tennessee, Mississippi State, and Wake Forest finish just on the outside looking in of this week’s FPI top 25.
