The ESPN FPI Top 25 features some fascinating movements within its rankings. After an outrageous, upset-filled weekend, there’s plenty of controversial placements of the biggest programs.

Following some gigantic SEC matchups, the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide were able to keep their spots at the top. However, while they’ve received respect from the polls, the ESPN FPI has Penn State and Iowa outside the top ten.

Unfortunately, there’s a winner and a loser in prime college football matchups. Some huge programs suffered tough losses on Saturday, like Arkansas, Ole Miss, Notre Dame and Texas A&M.

Biggest Risers

Pittsburgh Panthers (+4). After destroying Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh shot into the top ten. Moreover, quarterback Kenny Pickett continued his tremendous season. His stats are ridiculous, throwing 19 touchdowns and one interception in the season.

Iowa Hawkeyes (+9). The Hawkeyes got the weekend started, destroying Maryland on Friday night. While they’re putting their name on the radar for the College Football Playoff, Iowa sits at 12th in the ESPN FPI.

Nebraska Cornhuskers (+5). An impressive 56-7 dismantling of Northwestern moved Scott Frost‘s team up the rankings. They could be even higher, as all their losses this season have been by one possession.

Cincinnati Bearcats (+3). After arguably the biggest win the program history, the Bearcats are up to 14th in the ESPN FPI. While many believes they should be higher, they’ll continue to climb with more victories.

Biggers Fallers

Notre Dame Fighting Irish (-5). After a home loss to Cincinnati, the Fighting Irish fell down to 18th. Injuries and quarterback issues doomed Brian Kelly‘s squad, and now they’ll be on the outside looking in for the playoff.

Arkansas Razorbacks (-5). After garnering so much hype, the Razorbacks laid an egg against Georgia. It was never close, as the Bulldogs dominated Sam Pittman in his return to Athens. They fell down the ESPN FPI.

Oregon Ducks (-4). The Pac-12 is doomed. Their hope at a College Football Playoff berth went by the wayside with Oregon‘s loss, unless the Ducks get some unprecedented help.

Ole Miss Rebels (-4). The Rebels were looking to shake up the SEC by defeating Alabama. However, the only thing Lane Kiffin shook-up on Saturday was social media, as he threw his headset during an interview. It was a tough weekend for Ole Miss.

Texas A&M Aggies (-3). Before the season, many penciled in Alabama-Texas A&M as one of the SEC’s best matchups. Instead, the Aggies have backed their way into the game — losing to Arkansas and Mississippi State in consecutive weeks.
