With NIL and the transfer portal already having a strong impact on the college sports landscape and conference realignment changes right around the corner, it’s safe to say that the next 10 years could potentially look as different as they ever have for college football. That combined with perennial powerhouse Alabama‘s recent loss that hurts their National Championship hopes raised the question on ESPN’s Get Up, who will win the most national titles in the next 10 years? Heather Dinich, Paul Finebaum, and Mike Greenberg all gave their picks starting with Dinich.

“I’m gonna go with USC because they’re going to the Big Ten, I think they can dominate that conference,” Dinich said. “Lincoln Riley’s done a great job already, I would say he’s ahead of schedule. No problem recruiting there, keep your quarterbacks in the Pac-12, or the Big Ten rather, and not the SEC, and I think this is a team that can go on and win national titles for the Big Ten.”

Riley has gotten the Trojans off to a hot start in his first season, as they currently rank No. 8 in the CFP rankings with just one loss with a team comprised largely of new, transfer portal additions. Riley’s hot start is impressive, but to no surprise, Finebaum went in a different direction and stayed loyal to his beloved Southeastern Conference.

“Very intriguing, but I’m going with the obvious one and that is Georgia. Kirby Smart is the new Alabama in Athens, I mean it looks like Alabama and they play like Alabama of old and I think they are built for success. Yeah the SEC will get tougher with two new teams, but I don’t think anyone is gonna knock Kirby Smart off of the top over this next 10 years,” Finebaum said.

It’s hard to argue with the defending National Champions and currently No. 1 ranked Bulldogs to maintain their dominance for the next decade, but Greenberg believes another SEC will best them in the upcoming years.

“I think those are both intriguing picks, but let me tell you the right one, and that is upon consultation with the little committee I’ve put together which consists of Booger McFarland, Ryan Clark, and Marcus Spears. The answer is LSU. The answer is Brian Kelly,” Greenberg said.

Greenberg’s committee of LSU alumni may have added some bias in his decision, but like Riley, Kelly has gotten LSU off to a great start in his first season at the helm, ranking No. 7 in the country and beating back-to-back top-ten-ranked SEC opponents in their last two matchups.

“And you touched on it earlier Paul that Brian Kelly left Notre Dame because he took them as far as you can realistically take them the way college football is currently constituted. He doesn’t have to get onto a plane to recruit at LSU, just get into a car and he can put together teams that are good enough, he will have them now,” Greenberg said. “I think Kelly, he’s gonna prove to everyone what he is, which is an elite coach and never got the credit for it.”

All three teams surely look like they have bright futures ahead of them, and only time will tell who wins the next decade, as Finebaum couldn’t help but get the last word in on Greenberg’s pick.

“Greeny, never trust three guys from LSU, that was such a terrible terrible horrible pick,” Finebaum said.
