ESPN ranks Top 25 players in college football ahead of 2022 season

College football is a little over a week away from kicking off on August 27th. With the season right around the corner, everyone’s final lists, polls, rankings and predictions are going on the record. ESPN is the latest to do so with their ranking of the Top-25 players in the sport.

A pair of duos from Alabama and Ohio State lead the way with a Longhorn rounding out their Top-5.

  4. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR – Ohio State
  5. Bijan Robinson, RB – Texas
  6. Jalen Carter, DT – Georgia
  7. TreVeyon Henderson, RB – Ohio State
  8. Brock Bowers, TE – Georgia
  9. Jordan Addison, WR – USC
  10. Caleb Williams, QB – USC
  11. Kayshon Boutte, WR – LSU
  12. Deuce Vaughn, RB – Kansas State
  13. Bryan Bresee, DT – Clemson
  14. Kelee Ringo, CB – Georgia
  15. Sean Tucker, RB – Syracuse
  16. Michael Mayer, TE – Notre Dame
  17. Noah Sewell, LB – Oregon
  18. Myles Murphy, DE – Clemson
  19. Devin Leary, QB – NC State
  20. Jahmyr Gibbs, RB – Alabama
  21. Sam Hartman, QB – Wake Forest
  22. Jarrett Patterson, C – Notre Dame
  23. Jordan Battle, S – Alabama
  24. Dallas Turner, OLB – Alabama
  25. Tyler Van Dyke, QB – Miami

As the preseason No. 1 team in the AP Poll, the Crimson Tide have the most selections overall with a fifth of ESPN’s Top-25. The Buckeyes and Bulldogs tied for second with three selections apiece. Ohio State’s three are all within the Top-10 of the list and Georgia’s are all within the Top-15. USC, Clemson and Notre Dame all finished with a pair apiece as well.

This list from ESPN is a who’s who on the best teams in the nation. 10 of the AP Poll’s Top-25 teams are represented with several of these players also appearing on Heisman and NFL Draft lists across the media ahead of the 2022 season. Regardless of position or school, each of these players should have a say on how this college football season plays out in the end.
