Week 3 of college football is in the books, and all eyes are now on Week 4. Before we get there, though, updated rankings are being released following the latest weekend of action. On Sunday, ESPN released updated FPI Top 25 rankings with some big changes.

No teams ranked in last week’s AP top ten lost in Week 3, and none of those teams really had to sweat things out, either. That is with the exception of Arkansas, who inched out a close 38-27 victory over Missouri State. Beyond the top ten, there were a couple of upsets.

The biggest upset of the weekend came when Michigan State lost to Washington. Michigan State entered the week ranked at No. 11, and the Spartans became the only team ranked in last week’s top 25 to lose to an unranked opponent in Week 3.

Oregon and BYU and Texas A&M and Miami fought off in two matchups between multiple top 25 teams, and the lower-ranked team came away with the victory in both. Oregon entered the week ranked No. 25, and beat No. 12 BYU 41-20. Texas A&M was ranked No. 24 and beat No. 13 Miami 17-9.

Penn State also picked up a blowout victory in a highly anticipated matchup against Auburn. Florida and Wake Forest narrowly escaped with victories on Saturday, with the Gators picking up a 31-28 victory over USF and the Demon Deacons winning 37-36 against Liberty.
