ESPN reveals updated bowl, College Football Playoff predictions following Week 8

Week 8 games have once again changed the outlook of the 2022 postseason College Football Playoff and bowl season. ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach took another stab at their projections heading into Week 9, which features another large slate of consequential top-25 games.

With the Georgia Bulldogs and Ohio State Buckeyes still undefeated through eight weeks, they sit decidedly atop the CFP for Bonagura and Schlabach. Behind those two teams are a trio of undefeated squads from three different conferences. TCU, Clemson and Tennessee are also in the ESPN prognosticators’ CFP.

Both reporters have Clemson battling for a spot in the final but one has the Tigers in the Peach Bowl, while the other has them playing in the Fiesta Bowl. Dabo Swinney’s squad almost lost it all but rallied back from an 11-point deficit to take down Syracuse.

Projections can change dramatically with just one Saturday’s worth of games and plenty more will change between now and the conference championships. Here is a look at how ESPN sees the playoff and postseason lining up after a wild Week 8.
