9 SEC teams ranked in Preseason AP Top 25

The Preseason AP Poll was released on Monday, with nine SEC teams making the top 25.

Georgia led the way as the Bulldogs are ranked No. 1 after winning two of the past three national titles. Georgia lost a lot of talent off of last year’s team, but the Bulldogs are still loaded, led by the potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft in Carson Beck.

Texas is also ranked in the top 5, coming in at No. 4. The Longhorns reached the College Football Playoff last season and are expected to make some noise again this year under Steve Sarkisian.

Rounding out the top 5 is another familiar name in Alabama, although the Crimson Tide have a new leader in Kalen DeBoer after Nick Saban retired.

Ole Miss is ranked No. 6 heading into the 2024 season. Expectations are high in Oxford as Lane Kiffin brought in several talented players from the transfer portal to join a Rebels roster that was already really good.

Other ranked SEC teams in the preseason AP Poll including — No. 11 Missouri, No. 13 LSU, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 16 Oklahoma and No. 20 Texas A&M.
