WATCH: Five-star recruit Evan Stewart turns on the jets, dusts defense
2022 Frisco (Texas) Liberty wide receiver Evan Stewart is one of the top athletes in his class. He put that on display in a recent game. MaxPreps tweeted a video of Stewart catching a screen pass, turning up the field and easily leaving the opposing defense in the dust.
Stewart is a top five recruit in the 2022 class
On3 ranked Stewart as a five-star prospect and the fifth overall prospect for 2022. In 2020, Stewart had 46 receptions for 913 yards and nine touchdowns. Stewart is also a track star, which makes him an all-around explosive athlete. On3’s Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power believes that Stewart is one of the best receivers to come out of high school in recent years.
“Evan Stewart is one of the best athletes in the country. He’s a blur on the field and consistently runs by defensive backs with ease. The on-field speed is validated by his track profiled – he’s a top sprinter (10.58 100 meters) and long jumper (24+ feet),” Power said. “In watching Stewart play last season, most opposing teams would play bracket coverage against him. It was like watching a basketball team defend a great player with a box and one defense.”

Stewart currently remains uncommitted
Steward is the top wide receiver in the 2022 class out of Texas. He has not yet committed. Before decommitting back in March, Stewart was a Texas commitment. He has taken official visits to Florida and Texas. Stewart has taken unofficial visits to Texas A&M, Alabama, and LSU. He is now considering official visits to those three programs.
“As we enter the 2021 season, it’s scary that Stewart has seen considerable improvement over the spring and summer,” Power said. “He’s really refined his routes and become a complete receiver. Stewart had a few standout camp showings over the summer and looks primed for a huge senior season. He’s among the best receiver prospects to come out of high school football in the last few years.”
