Even the fast food restaurant Cook Out is trolling Nick Saban after Vanderbilt upset Alabama on Saturday.

Ross Dellenger posted a picture from a Cook Out in Nashville with a sign mocking Nick Saban saying that Vanderbilt is the only place in the SEC that isn’t hard to play.

The quote from Nick Saban came last month during the Pat McAfee Show.

“The only place you’re going to play in the SEC that’s not hard to play, Vanderbilt,” Nick Saban said back on Sept. 20. “When you play at Vanderbilt, you have more fans there than they have, and that’s no disrespect to them, it’s the truth. When we played in Nashville, we had more fans, Alabama fans, than what they had Vanderbilt fans.”

While Vanderbilt has traditionally been an easy place for SEC opponents to play, those words obviously came back to bite Saban this past Saturday.

Vanderbilt stunned Saban’s former team, beating the Crimson Tide 40-35.

On Monday, Clark Lea declared he had not seen Saban’s comments leading into the game but did not have an opinion on them. His course changed later in the day with Lea saying “It does piss me off” — although, he does recognize the industry Saban is now in, working for ESPN College GameDay.

“Certainly, I don’t appreciate that being said, and I don’t appreciate any time that our program is the butt of the joke, but it’s our job to build something that’s dangerous, and that’s what we’re doing,” Lea said. “And I think the world found that out on Saturday…

“Coach has so much wisdom, and I think in his role now, he probably is responsible for more sound bites than he would like to or that he’s comfortable with, but I got a ton of respect for him. I don’t appreciate what he said.”
