Fast-rising 2023 WR Nakai Poole focusing on next phase of recruitment
Norcross (Ga.) wide receiver junior Nakai Poole has shed his ‘slept on’ label. Poole has added nearly 20 Power Five offers over the last few months with new ones coming in on a daily basis. He had two offers coming into his junior season in 2021. Programs like LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Mississippi State and Cincinnati have all offered Poole recently.
Poole has remained humble about everything.
Now, Poole is beginning to focus on trying to make a decision. The name on or conference of the school doesn’t mean a lot to Poole.
“I’m going to go on these visits in the spring and the summer and see how it goes,” Poole said. “We’re going to look at what schools are with me for real so that I can commit.”
As the offers come in, Poole has already begun to make his judgments on some programs.
“I’m already deciding on some schools now just because they jumped on me early and the later offers that come in later, I’m going to take a lot of offers to see if I like them and if they really want me,” Poole said.

Poole plans to take visits to Ole Miss, Duke, Louisville and Wake Forest. His most recent visit was to a school that hasn’t offered yet. Poole was at North Carolina on Jan. 29.
The Tar Heels haven’t extended an offer but if they should Poole’s experience in Chapel Hill was good enough to have them high on his list.
“It was really nice over there,” Poole said. “The coaches were showing us a lot of love out there. They would be a top school if they gave me an offer. I like their school a lot.”
