Jordan Church is working his way through the recruiting process and he is set on making a commitment before his senior year. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound interior offensive lineman out of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy has trimmed his list to five schools.

Florida State, Louisville, Missouri, Pittsburgh, and Tennessee are the finalists for Church and he has started scheduling his official visits. Official visits to Louisville (June 17-19) and to Tennessee (June 3-5) have been locked in.

Out of the five schools still in contention, Missouri is the only one he has yet to visit. He has visited the other four and he sees an opportunity at each program.

“Based on my visits and getting to know the coaches, I can see myself at any one of these five schools,” Church told On3. “I like what I know about my position opportunity, I like how the coaches can teach, and the city where these schools are located look good to me.”

Outside of feeling at home, the most important factor in Church’s decision is the opportunity to play early. He has talked with coaches at each school about their depth, the players at his position, and he will get deeper into that on the official visits.

“I really want to play. On unofficial visits, I have talked to the coaches about that, I have looked over the different rosters, and the depth and players at my position are keys in my decision.”

Church will give all five schools an equal chance

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine powered by spiny.ai, Louisville is trending. The Cardinals definitely made a strong impression early in March when he visited.

“I loved the city and the people at Louisville. The coaches are down to earth there. I saw a great fit, and I can’t wait to get back and meet some of the players. This will be a big visit for sure.”

Church has gotten a good feel for the coaches are these schools, so his plan is to speak with the players during his official visits.

“I want to hear what they have to say too. I want to talk to the players about the team, the coaches, the school, and just get their opinion of everything. Hearing from them will help me a lot.”

Each school is pushing for the three-star. He is having consistent communication with coaches from each school and they go into this final stretch with an equal shot.

“I like all five schools,” Church said. “The coaches at real at Florida State. Coach Atkins is a great teacher. Coach Borbely at Pitt is a great coach too. We watched film together on the visit and he has great knowledge. Tennessee’s atmosphere is crazy and I loved the fans up there. I just need to visit Missouri. The coaches are cool, so I just need to see what it is like.

“All five schools are high on my list. These official visits will be important in helping me make my decision.”
