Five prospects in Texas ready to soar

The state of Texas is one of the top two producers of talent on an annual level along with Florida.

The 2025 cycle in the Lone Star State is going to be more of the same with the chance to have tremendous depth at a number of positions.

With college coaches set to be back on the road in January evaluating 2025’s before Junior Days begin, On3 provides some junior’s to watch in the coming weeks.

Floyd Guidry, DL, Spring (Texas) High

The 6-foot-1.25, 293-pound quick and explosive Houston area lineman was named 11-6A First-Team All-District. In talking to a district head coach last week, he told On3 Guidry is the “real deal” and a guy that he expects to pick up a lot more offers. Floyd was named 14-6A Defensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore, and backed it up with a first-team all-district selection as a junior. He totaled 47 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and six sacks in 2023.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound tells On3 He plans to attend Tennessee Volunteers Junior Day January 20. Tennessee, Ole Miss, Baylor, Kansas, Georgia Tech and BYU are showing serious interest. The Yellow Jackets are also working to get Guillory on campus January 13. Guillory was named 15-6A First-Team All-District following the 2023 season.

The 6-foot-3, 308-pounder was one of the most productive defensive linemen in the Houston area with 86 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and 11 sacks in 2023. Sims posted 28 tackles, six tackles for loss and five sacks in three playoff games to end the season. He’s got plenty of upside as an over the ball defensive tackle at the Power 5 level.

Nathan Tilmon, S, Mansfield (Texas) Timberview

Tilmon is one of several future Power 5 defensive players at Timberview High in the DFW area. He posed 34 tackles and six pass break ups in seven games, missing three due to injury. Tilmon was a productive player in 2022 as a sophomore with 44 tackles and an interception. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder also has a personal best of 10.91 FAT in the 100 meters in April of his sophomore year.

Ayden Webb, DB, Richardson (Texas) Lake Highlands

November and December offers: Arkansas State and TCU

The 6-foot-2 defensive back prospect is a good bet to have more than 10 offers by the end of the spring. He possesses the height, arm length, quickness, speed and ball skills to attract Power 5 programs. He was named First-team All-District following the 2023 season.
