Personal Life (via On3)
“Sometimes Timpson (Texas) High School coach Kerry Therwhanger just shakes his head when watching his star Terry Bussey play on Friday nights. As a quarterback, Bussey threw for 2,177 yards and 26 touchdowns, completing 64% of his passes in 2022. Bussey also rushed for 2,596 yards and 46 touchdowns, averaging a staggering 14.1 yards per carry. Defensively, he tallied 115 tackles and five interceptions, returning four of them for touchdowns. “It helps when you have an athlete like we’ve got,” Therwhanger told Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. “He makes plays that you don’t necessarily draw up. You call the play, and he has his mind right, and he just takes over.” Bussey said he isn’t sure what position he will play in college. “I’ll just play any position that coach needs me to play,” he told DCTF. “Playing on both sides of the ball helps me get ready for college. It builds my conditioning, makes me stay focused and see the game from different perspectives.”
