5-star QB Cade Klubnik highlights MaxPreps All-America teams
Austin (Texas) Westlake quarterback Cade Klubnik rewrote the record books over the past four years at one of the country’s biggest quarterback factories. Tuesday, he added another impressive line to his resume when he was named the MaxPreps National Player of the Year.
The future Clemson signal-caller led Westlake to its third consecutive state championship. And he finished his high school career without a single loss. As a senior, he accounted for 3,722 yards of total offense (3,251 passing, 471 rushing) and 55 touchdowns.
Klubnik is the No. 20 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the country’s No. 1 quarterback this cycle and the No. 6 prospect in Texas.
In three varsity seasons, Klubnik threw for more than 7,400 yards, 86 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. His career yardage total is a school record, and that’s no small feat considering the likes of Drew Brees, Sam Ehlinger, and Nick Foles all played for the Chaps.
