Five-Star Plus+ DL Elijah Griffin visiting Colorado, Oregon this month
Savannah (Ga.) Christian Prep Five-Star Plus+ defensive lineman Elijah Griffin remains one of the top uncommitted prospects in the 2025 cycle as the summer continues to near.
There’s a host of programs vying for the 6-foot-4.5, 290-pounder — who announced his top 12 schools last month. Colorado and Oregon are two of the dozen in the mix, and he’ll return to both later this month. He’s set to visit the Buffaloes on April 20 and will head to Eugene for a visit with the Ducks on April 27, per On3’s Chad Simmons.
Griffin is the No. 5 overall prospect and top-ranked defensive lineman in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the top-ranked player in Georgia.
The elite lineman has continued to work through his recruitment this spring and has taken trips to the likes of Clemson, Florida, Georgia, USC and more so far in 2024. He’ll head across the country in the coming weeks to check out Deion Sanders and Dan Lanning’s programs.
“I am just ready to start narrowing it down,” Griffin told On3 last month. “These schools have done a great job communicating with me, getting to know me and showing their love and appreciation for me. I like a lot of the same things about these schools and I think all 12 can help me reach my potential.”

Official visits likely to follow for Griffin
Griffin has made it clear that he’s in no rush to make a decision. He has the who’s who of college football after his pledge, and he’s working to whittle down his top contenders. After his spring trips, officials in the summer and even into the fall are likely to follow.
“The plan is to commit closer to Signing Day in December,” Griffin said. “In the future, I might narrow it down to six or I could leave it at 12 until I commit.
“When I commit, a big thing will be development. I look at the coaching, how many they have gotten drafted and who I feel can develop me to the best of ability will be a big factor. Teaching me to be a man outside of football is something else I am looking at.”
Georgia is currently trending for Griffin, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). Simmons and a trio of UGA recruiting insiders have each logged picks in favor of the Dawgs landing the in-state talent.
