Five-Star Plus+ DL Justus Terry commits to Texas over Auburn and Georgia
Manchester (Ga.) Five-Star Plus+ defensive lineman Justus Terry has committed to Texas over Georgia and Auburn on the final day of the Early Signing Period.
Terry, a one-time UGA and USC commit, gives Steve Sarkisian and Co. a signature win at the end of the 2025 cycle and a massive building block going forward.
The 6-foot-4, 275-pounder is the No. 9 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the No. 2 defensive lineman and No. 2 prospect in the Peach State.
He made an early commitment to the Bulldogs in January 2023, which lasted for more than a year before he flipped to USC on his first to Los Angeles in March 2024. He, along with Five-Star Plus+ EDGE and fellow Georgian Isaiah Gibson, gave Lincoln Riley and Co. a massive boost to their class.

However, both decommitted within a few days of each other. Gibson quickly committed to the in-state Bulldogs, but Terry took his time with the process. In addition to officially visiting the Bulldogs, he made stops at Florida State, Alabama, Auburn and Texas over the past few months.
And ultimately, in a bit of a recruiting shocker, he has chosen the Longhorns and plans to sign with them.
Justus Terry Scouting Summary
On3’s Scouting and Rankings team writes this about Terry as a prospect:
“Explosive defensive lineman with a big frame and outstanding first-step quickness. Measured in at over 6-foot-4 and around 280 pounds prior to his senior season. Has good length with arms that are around 33.5 to 34 inches. Weight is evenly proportioned throughout his frame. Dominant while playing the small school level, tallying 78 tackles, 21 tackles for loss and 13 sacks. Lines up all over the defensive front at the high school level. Has the skill set to develop into a dynamic interior pass rusher. Wins with first step and lateral quickness, has rare get off and leverage for a player of his stature. Quality bend and ability to change direction. Uses his length to initiate contact consistently and sheds blockers with ease. Able to anchor and two-gap if needed. Will need to continue adding mass and play strength in addition to honing his technical skills. A high upside prospect given his natural traits who could develop into a true interior disruptor.”
