Five-Star Plus+ DL Lebbeus Overton will reclassify to 2022, names top 5
Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton Five-Star Plus+ defensive lineman Lebbeus Overton is reclassifying into the 2022 class, he announced Thursday.
Overton is the No. 2 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
He is also one of four Five-Star Plus+ prospects in the class along with New Orleans Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning, Los Alamitos (Calif.) quarterback Malachi Nelson and Lakeland (Fla.) Lake Gibson cornerback Cormani McClain.
Lebbeus Overton talked with On3’s Jeremy Johnson about his top five schools of Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Georgia and Oregon in this On3+ story. On3’s Chad Simmons goes inside the top five and breaks down who has the best chance of landing him in this On3+ story.
The 6-foot-3, 270-pounder is a heavy lean to Texas A&M, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). The Aggies currently have a 96% chance of landing him.

Texas A&M currently has the No. 1 recruiting class in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.
Powell (Tenn.) defensive lineman Walter Nolen — who, like Overton, is a Five-Star Plus+ prospect and No. 2 overall recruit in his recruiting class, according to the On3 Consensus — headlines the class. Five-Star Plus+ defensive lineman Shemar Stewart committed to the Aggies on Wednesday as well, choosing Texas A&M over Miami and Georgia.
Overton’s addition would officially cement Texas A&M’s 2022 crop as the best recruiting in the internet recruiting era.
Overton currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $61,000. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time. Overton ranks No. 31 in the High School Football NIL Rankings.
Lebbeus Overton Scouting Report
Powerful, quick-twitch defender with an elite production profile playing in Georgia’s highest classification. Has been considered among the top prospects in the cycle dating to his freshman season. Possesses a large frame at 6-foot-3, 270 pounds with long arms, large hands and big feet. May ultimately grow into an interior defensive lineman, but has the quickness and burst to play on the edge. A dominant high school football player who averaged over 1.5 sacks per game as a freshman and sophomore.
Creates issues for opposing offensive linemen with his considerable first step and ability to convert speed to power. Plays with a relentless motor and often runs down plays from the back side. A violent and physical finisher behind the line of scrimmage. Also plays and processes the game quickly. Working his way back to speed after missing some games to start his junior year with broken bones in his foot. Doubles as a starter on a nationally-ranked high school basketball team. – Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
