Five-Star Plus+ QB Arch Manning still set for Alabama official visit
New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Arch Manning put a bow on his final spring Uptown last Friday. Next up is a wave of official visits in June.
Manning, the nation’s consensus No. 1 player, has a trio of official visits locked in. He’ll see Georgia (June 3-5), Alabama (June 10-12) and Texas (June 17-19). Those plans remain in place even after the Crimson Tide landed a commitment from On300 quarterback Eli Holstein on Tuesday.
Manning intends to officially visit Alabama on the same weekend, multiple sources tell On3. The Tide has and will continue to recruit both Holstein and Manning. They are both expected to officially visit on June 10-12.
Members of the Alabama, Georgia, Texas and LSU coaching staffs were on hand at Newman last Friday for Manning’s spring finale. The Five-Star Plus+ quarterback accounted for five touchdowns and impressed in the process.
Earlier this spring, On3 reported that there has been a little more chatter surrounding the Bulldogs and Longhorns entering May. Certainly, both Georgia and Texas have been mainstays in Manning’s recruitment leading into these summer official visits. Manning also expressed interest in possibly visiting LSU and Florida this summer or in the fall.

There has never been a precise timeline for Manning’s decision, though those close to Manning expected one to be in place at some point prior to his senior year. Manning and his family have since made it clear that a decision will come whenever Arch is comfortable doing so. The door remains open for a commitment sometime this summer, but could also stretch into the fall and possibly even December, an indicator that the 18-year-old is still giving strong consideration to at least three teams — and possibly more.
Manning is the No. 1 player in the country according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He recently went on the record with his recruitment, indicating that he’s still torn between a handful of schools.
“It’s kind of getting closer,” Manning told On3 of his decision timeline. “I don’t really have a point yet, but I guess it’s kind of narrowing stuff down. I’m looking forward to (making a decision) either before the season or during the season or after the season. If I was ready I’d probably commit right now, but I’m not, so I’m just waiting.”
