Five-Star Samuel M'Pemba narrows list, sets commitment date
Five-star EDGE Samuel M’Pemba of Saint Louis (MO) IMG Academy is down to four schools– Tennessee, Miami, Florida, and Georgia.
The 6-foot-4, 250 pounder will announce his college decision on December 4th.
He went in-depth on his finalists.
Tennessee
“They have a great atmosphere,” M’Pemba said. “The coaches check up on you all the time and really want the best for you, and they are becoming a top program.”
Miami
“Miami under coach Cristobal is in the rebuilding stage and with the 2023 class they’re building you know that the program is going up.”
Florida
“Florida is starting to find themselves now for sure with the last couple games,” M’Pemba said. “They’re definitely starting to get what they need, and just needing a couple more pieces.”
Georgia
“Georgia is a top program and has a great atmosphere too,” M’Pemba said. “I was at the Tennessee game and that was the loudest game I’ve ever been to. They’ve got a great program over there.”

Samuel M’Pemba Scouting Summary
“Physically-developed two-way athlete, with the highest projected ceiling as an EDGE prospect,” On3’s Director of Scouting Charles Power wrote. “Played as a pass rusher and wide receiver at his initial high school prior to transferring to IMG Academy as a junior. Primarily played as a tight end/h-back at IMG during the fall of 2021. A strong athlete with dip and feel for rushing the passer. Had considerable murkiness around his ultimate position. Practicing at EDGE in the spring for IMG and looks primed to make an impact as a pass rusher.”
“Measured at 6-foot-3.5, 240 pounds with a 6-foot-10 wing-span prior to his senior season. Tests as a solid to good athlete, clocking an electronically-timed 4.94 second 40-yard dash prior to his senior season. Would benefit greatly from a permanent move to defense as a senior, in our opinion.Practicing at EDGE in the spring and looks good there. Can continue to improve initial quickness but savvy and has natural pass rush ability.”
M’Pemba ranks as the No. 23 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting sites. He also tabs in as the No. 4 EDGE and the No. 6 player in the state of Florida.
