Florida Atlantic QB Cam Fancher enters NCAA transfer portal
Florida Atlantic quarterback Cam Fancher has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos reported. It will mark the third transfer of his career and he will have one season of eligibility remaining.
Fancher transferred to FAU this offseason after playing the first three years of his college career at Marshall. He would go on to win the starting quarterback job and finish with 1,528 yards passing and six touchdowns to six interceptions.
Fancher also showed off his rushing ability as he finished with 365 yards and three scores on the ground. His best game of the season came against North Texas as he tossed for 351 yards and three touchdowns with another 69 yards rushing.
Fancher played high school football for Wayne High School in Dayton, Ohio, where he was a three-star recruit in the 2021 cycle. He ranked as the No. 1,616 overall player and No. 108 quarterback in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Fancher also brings experience as the starting quarterback at Marshall, taking over midway through the 2022 season. He ended his career with the Thundering Herd having thrown for 3,766 yards and 21 touchdowns with 17 interceptions.

Given the QB’s skill as a runner, he should draw plenty of interest from other teams after entering his name in the portal.
The transfer portal officially opened Dec. 7 and will remain open until Dec. 28, though players on teams still playing in the postseason will get an additional five-day window to enter the portal after their seasons end.
