Carrollton (Ga.) High defensive back Antonio Cromartie Jr. announced his commitment to Florida State on Monday evening following an official visit to Tallahassee over the weekend.

Cromartie will now aim to have his own impact on a program where his father was a standout before going on to be an All-Pro in the NFL.

“I mean it’s definitely a special feeling,” the younger Cromartie said. “My whole family is excited for this and for me I’ve always dreamed of playing at FSU and now it’s coming true.”

In helping Carrollton advance to the state title game in the Peach State’s largest class, the 6-foot, 170-pound Cromartie posted 85 tackles, four forced fumbles, an interception and four pass breakups.

Florida State offered Cromartie on Christmas Day and everything built up to this from that moment on.

“Really the staff made it right for me,” Cromartie said. “Coach (Mike) Norvell makes the program feel like one big family and I want to be a part of that family.”

Cromartie becomes commit No. 21 for Florida State in the 2025 cycle adding to a class that was ranked No. 20 by the On3 Industry prior to his public pledge.

“The way their defense is,” Cromartie said of what stood out. “Coach (Tony) White’s defense looks different from any other defense and they play a lot of DBs. With my versatility the coaches want me to play all of those positions.

“I love the way all of their coaches coach. They push everybody. They don’t treat anybody different just because of who they are and I like that because I want to earn everything while I’m there. I don’t wanna be handed anything.”
