Omaha (Neb.) Millard South four-star tight end Chase Loftin was trending to be the next prospect to decommit from Florida State this fall, as Nebraska was working hard to keep him home. At one point, the Huskers were trending in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

The Seminoles were greeted with some good news on Monday night. Loftin took to social media, posting a photo of himself in FSU gear with the caption “I’m locked in! Go Noles!”

Holding onto Loftin’s pledge is a big win for Mike Norvell and the Seminoles. The fall has been brutal to the ACC program on the recruiting trail, as prospects have decommitted and flipped away from Tallahassee left and right. Loftin is currently one of just five blue-chippers in the class, as of Dec. 2.

He originally committed on June 29, not long after he logged his official visit.

“Florida State definitely just set the bar,” Loftin said of his OV to On3. “I had a great time. I loved spending time with the coaching staff especially Coach Norvell and Coach Thomsen! They continue to impress me and are going to be a great option for the decision coming soon!”
