Florida State trending for 2026 IOL Jakobe Green following decommitment from Mississippi State

Niceville (Fla.) three-star interior offensive lineman Jakobe Green has decommitted from Mississippi State, he announced on Monday evening via social media.
Pledged to the Bulldogs since the beginning of February, Green is now back on the board, though he’s already trending to another program.
Florida State has emerged in the 6-foot-2.5, 325-pounder’s process, and according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Seminoles are now trending heavily. Four picks have been logged in favor of FSU picking up Green’s pledge.
Green was back in Starkville for an official visit over the weekend, but that trip led to him decommitting from the SEC program. Florida State offered at the end of May and now looks to be in position to adding the trench monster to a rising 2026 recruiting class in Tallahassee.
“This place means a lot,” Green told Warchant after an OV to FSU at the beginning of the month. “During the visit, they had teammates, other guys come in, be around me. And that really meant a lot, so they’re definitely up there.”
Green is the No. 677 overall prospect and No. 65 IOL in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 90 player in Florida.
Seminoles surging this summer
After maneuvering through a rather quiet spring, FSU has acquired some serious momentum as of late and now has the No. 13 class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings this cycle. Sunday and Monday have each brought a pair of pledges.

Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County four-star wide receiver Devin Carter is an FSU legacy and flipped back to the Seminoles from Auburn on Monday. He was then followed by Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star tight end Xavier Tiller, a former Texas A&M commit who spurned Auburn to choose Mike Norvell and Co.
The new commits are now the two highest-ranked prospects in the class. Carter ranks as the No. 124 recruit and No. 19 receiver this cycle, while Tiller checks in as the No. 222 recruit and No. 11 TE.
Directly after decommitting from Oklahoma, Mustang (Okla.) four-star quarterback Jaden O’Neal pledged to FSU on Sunday, ending a long saga that saw the signal-caller slowly trend toward Tallahassee this year. He’s now the No. 16 QB in the cycle.
June has also brought commitments from Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage four-star wide receiver Brandon Bennett, Lithonia (Ga.) four-star defensive lineman Tico Crittendon and Irvine (Calif.) Crean Lutheran three-star defensive lineman James Carrington, among others.
