Florida State getting 2026 WR Jonah Winston, brother of Jameis, on campus for spring visit

Florida State is in the mix for Hoover (Ala.) three-star wide receiver Jonah Winston, the younger brother of former Seminoles star quarterback Jameis Winston.
Earlier this year, Winston said that FSU was one of the programs standing out in his recruitment. He’s now set to get down to Tallahassee for a spring visit on April 19.
Winston is the No. 531 overall prospect and No. 79 WR in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 20 player in Alabama.
Auburn, UCF and Ole Miss are among the other favorites near the top of Winston’s recruitment. There’s obviously clear interest between the pass-catcher and FSU, given the family connections.
“The one thing that makes FSU more unique than the other schools is I basically grew up at FSU,” Winston previously told Warchant. “That’s where the game really started for me.”
Jonah led Hoover in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns last season with 38 catches for 542 yards and three scores. He also carried the ball 21 times for 152 yards and five touchdowns. The Buccaneers won 10 games and finished as the No. 7 team in the state, per the On3 Composite Rankings.
His older brother Jameis won the Heisman Trophy and BCS National Championship in 2013 at FSU. Since moving onto professional football, Winston has also earned NFL Pro Bowl honors and led the league in passing yards in 2019.
