Florida State moves up to No. 8 in On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings
It has been a successful week on the recruiting trail for Mike Norvell’s Florida State Seminoles, as the ‘Noles have landed a commitment on three consecutive days. With the latest commitment of Tallahassee (Fla.) Florida State University School four-star athlete Micahi Danzy, Florida State jumped four spots to No. 8 in On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
“I really made my decision back in the spring,” Danzy told On3. “I was there for my official visit in June and I camped there in June too, but the visit before that in the spring is when I knew for sure it was Florida State. It was just a feeling I had.”
Danzy is the No. 173 overall prospect and No. 7 athlete in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 26 player in Florida.
“How they played last season showed me something,” Danzy said. “They really improved a lot and coach (Mike) Norvell has the team going in the right direction. That’s when I really started to get interested in them.
“The season they had moved them up to the top for me they have been there since.”
Commitments rolling in for Florida State
The previous two days, Florida State added two additional prospects to its 2024 class. Pensacola (Fla.) Pine Forest four-star offensive tackle Jonathan Daniels pledged to the Seminoles on Thursday.

“From the very first time I was on campus, they made me feel like a priority,” Daniels told On3. “I camped there, and during the camp coach Norvell walked up and offered me. From that day, it’s been rubber to the road. I’ve felt like I was their top priority from day one.”
On Friday, Florida State added Oviedo (Fla.) three-star offensive tackle Tye Hylton.
“Then my mom approves of Florida State,” Hylton told On3. “They are focused on my development as a person and a player and she loves the plan they have for me. She doesn’t care about the uniforms, NIL and things like that, it is about the people with her. She sees great people at Florida State that can be great mentors for me.
“…Then I like the location too. I am from up north (New York), so I love the weather. How the staff believes in me made a big impact on me too. Then there is that brotherhood there, the brotherhood at Florida State is like no other. It is so family-oriented, they do everything together as a team. Everyone is close. It is going to be great to be a part of that.”
