Florida State offers TCU 4-star WR commit Terry Shelton
Florida State is without a wide receiver in its 2025 recruiting class with just eight days to go until National Signing Day.
The Seminoles are in need of an inkling of momentum on the recruiting trail. On Tuesday, Mike Norvell and his staff sent out an offer to a rising WR prospect that recently flipped his commitment.
Irving (Texas) Ranchview four-star WR Terry Shelton was the recipient of a significant bump in the updated On300 rankings last week. Now the No. 63 recruit in the On300 and the No. 20 WR in the On3 Industry Ranking, Shelton has seen his stock soar this fall.
Previously committed to Arizona, Shelton decommitted from the Wildcats and joined TCU’s class on Nov. 17. He now owns an offer from FSU, adding to a list that also includes the likes of Illinois, Nebraska and Texas Tech.
The Noles have sent out multiple offers late in the cycle as their class has continued to dwindle. They did flip Denton (Texas) Guyer three-star quarterback Kevin Sperry from Oklahoma on Nov. 21. Shelton is another Lone Star State prospect that the ACC program is throwing its hat into the ring for ahead of NSD.

Shelton is a headlining piece for Sonny Dykes and the Horned Frogs, who have a class that now ranks No. 26 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings — five spots ahead of Florida State. The 6-foot-4 pass-catcher has also built a great relationship with TCU receivers coach Malcolm Kelly.
“The first reason on why TCU is right for me is the development and Coach (Malcolm) Kelly’s resume,” Shelton told On3. “Coach Kelly has had three first round receivers in recent years and they were all my height and weight.
“Coach Kelly was also a big wide receiver his self and was a second round draft pick so he can teach me things other coaches can’t because he literally was like me!”
FSU’s class at one point featured commitments from four-star WR Malik Clark, four-star WR CJ Wiley and four-star WR Dayleon McCutcheon. All three have decommitted and headed elsewhere this fall. The Noles are looking to put a woeful 2024 season in the past and get things back to normal — both on the field and on the trail. Shelton could be a name to watch in the sprint to the finish line.
