In a Top-10 matchup, the smallest things can make the difference between a win or loss. For Florida State, though, they feel like they’ve found an early flaw that they can take advantage of against LSU.

Holly Rowe shared a report on ABC from the Seminole’s sideline during the first quarter of No. 5 LSU vs. No. 8 Florida State. After standing the Tigers up in the first few minutes on the goal line, she said that FSU’s defensive line has already noted a weakness on the right side of the Tiger’s offensive line that they think that they can exploit.

“After that last goal-line stand, the Florida State defensive line came to the sideline and they were fired up. They think the right guard of LSU and the right side of that line is vulnerable,” Rowe reported.

“Look for them to keep attacking right there on that right side,” said Rowe. “Jared Verse and DJ Lundy were pointing that out to their teammates.”

In the game last season, Florida State posted four sacks and six tackles for loss against LSU. That included two sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss out of Verse in his FSU debut.

To this point of the first quarter, Lundy already has a sack against LSU for Florida State’s defense. They’ve also managed to apply some overall pressure on Jayden Daniels as he attempts to run the Tiger offense.

Again, all it can take is one detail to make the difference in a game of this magnitude. It’ll be worth keeping an eye on now with how emphatically Florida State took note of it according to Rowe.

Keon Coleman scores first touchdown with Florida State

No. 8 Florida State drew first blood in its showdown with No. 5 LSU on Sunday evening with Michigan State transfer Keon Coleman doing the damage.

Just inside LSU territory, Coleman lined up out wide left and ran a simple slant. He caught the pass from quarterback Jordan Travis, slipped inside a defender and then outraced another to the end zone for a 40-yard touchdown. It was his first touchdown for the Seminoles.

Coleman was one of the prized gets out of the transfer portal this offseason after leaving the Spartans.

LSU answered quickly in response with a 33-yard reception by Kyren Lacy, putting the Tigers down to the 1-yard line. That’s where running back Tre Bradford plunged in to tie the game at 7-7 with 3:48 to play in the first quarter.

Needless to say, after last year’s thriller, it sure already looks like fans are in for another good one.
