Transferring former Florida State quarterback Trever Jackson is expected to make an official visit Arkansas on Wednesday, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Jackson entered the portal when the Spring window opened last week following a redshirt true freshman season in Tallahassee.

Now, the one-time Ole Miss commit appears to have his eyes on another SEC program in need of a talented young quarterback. Prior to signing with FSU, Jackson also had offers from Missouri, Texas A&M and UCLA.

Per his official Florida State profile, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Jackson spent most of the 2024 season as the Seminoles’ scout team quarterback. There is one appearance during FSU’s win over Charleston Southern late in the year. Jackson threw just one pass and completed it for a total of two yards.

Jackson played high school football at Winter Garden (Fla.) Jones, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 621 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Arkansas seeks transfer QB after freshman Madden Iamaleava leaves for UCLA

Arkansas is on the lookout for a young QB after true freshman Madden Iamaleava, the younger brother of former Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava, officially entered the transfer portal earlier this week with the stated intention of following his big brother to UCLA. Nico Iamaleava committed to the Bruins on Sunday, roughly a week after opting to enter the portal following a failed NIL renegotiation attempt.

Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman praised the progression he’s seen in Madden Iamaleava during the Spring slate after not playing high school football last fall.

“He’s done really well, especially coming off his – you know, he didn’t play his senior year,” Pittman said of Madden Iamaleava. “Very mature. Well-coached out of high school. And, but, yeah, I think he’s made a ton of improvement and I think you’ll see that throughout the rest of the spring and then, you know, the summer and, and fall camp.”

Of course, with Madden Iamaleava now off to join his brother in Los Angeles, Pittman and the Razorbacks are focused on adding another talented youngster out of the transfer portal.
