Florida and Texas A&M were set to begin their College World Series journies on Saturday, with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. But Mother Nature had other ideas, causing the game to be delayed with no real idea of when the game would be played. Luckily for the Gators and Aggies, we have an official start time.

Things will get underway from Charles Schwab Field at 10 p.m. CT. For those Florida fans watching in the Eastern time zone, it’s 11 p.m. A late night in Omaha is ahead for everyone.

“Just announced in the pressbox that we have a tentative starting time of 10 PM CT,” Nick de la Torre of On3’s Gators Online said via X.

Shortly after, NCAA Baseball announced the gates will open for fans at 9:15 p.m. CT, allowing for people to get settled in before the game starts.

This is not the first time Florida and Texas A&M have met up with each other. Both are members of the SEC and did see each other for a weekend series at one point. The Gators wound up winners in Gainesville, winning on Friday and Sunday.

Saturday night (or maybe Sunday morning) may be a little bit more important, though. A spot in the winner’s bracket is up for grabs, something important toward winning a national championship. Having to play from behind is never a good thing, with one loss meaning you can be sent home.

Kevin O’Sullivan not taking anything away from Florida’s earlier matchup vs. Texas A&M

Florida advanced to the College World Series with a Super Regional sweep of Clemson, setting up a rematch in the opening game at Omaha. Texas A&M awaits.

The Gators took two of three from the Aggies during a regular-season series in Gainesville back in mid-March. But coach Kevin O’Sullivan doesn’t believe he can take much from that series going into the showdown in Omaha.

“No, that series is so long ago,” O’Sullivan said. “It has no bearing on Saturday night. It does make it a little bit easier because we have played them three times. I’m sure (Texas A&M coach Jim Schlossnagle) will say the same thing. You know, they played us three times.”

Both teams have come a long way since then, though neither are quite the same. Both have lost a key piece in the lineup due to injury.
