Florida won the Little League World Series on Sunday against Chinese Taipei by a score of 2-1 in what was a crazy finish. With a runner on second in the eighth inning, Hunter Alexander used a bunt to attempt to try to find his way on base.

A Chinese Taipei player corralled the ball and turned to throw to first, but no one was standing on the bag. He tossed the ball away as the runner that was originally on second rounded the bases and touched home for the winning run. You can view the moment below.

The Little League World Series title marked the first in history for Florida. The event was first held in 1947 and Tokyo, Japan owns the most overall titles with four.

Florida defeated Texas on Saturday by a score of 10-7 in the semifinals to reach the championship game. It at one point trailed 4-0 in the third inning before coming back to win. Teraj Alexander capped a four-run rally when he stole home, giving Florida its first lead of the game, 5-4 in the fifth.

Once again, Florida found itself down early in Sunday’s game against Chinese Taipei as it trailed 1-0 entering the final inning. First baseman DeMarcos Mieses found a way to extend the game with a single to left field in the seventh to send the contest to extras.

Of course, we know how the story ended from there.
